The internal conflict is between Percy and his conscience, which is telling him to go recover the magical fleece, which is going to be a very dangerous quest. PlotThe plot of the story is the journey that Percy and his friends embark on to rescue Grover, and find a magical item called the fleece. The fleece grants healing to vegetation, and a tree at Camp Half Blood needs to be healed because it had gotten poisoned by evil monsters. The tree keeps all evil monsters out of Camp Half Blood, so it needs to be restored. Grover is a friend of Percy's that is going to be eaten if he is not rescued right away. During various points in the story, Percy and his friends are encountering hostile characters that either want to kill them or capture them. Each of these encounters involves a creature from a Greek myth.
climax and resolution
The climax of the story is when Percy and his friends fight Polyphemus and rescue Grover and retrieve the magical golden fleece. The resolution of the story is when Percy heals Thalia's tree from its poison by putting the magical fleece on it, because it restores the barriers of Camp Half Blood, which prevents evil monsters from entering the camp. This is to protect the demigods and centaurs that live there.
